About Vibe Dance Fitness

Built for everyone who was told dance was not for them.

Vibe is a fun-first, body-neutral dance fitness community for real people. No perfect body, no prior experience and no need to earn your place in the room.

A Vibe community moment

The Vibe origin story

Movement, music and belonging were never supposed to belong to one kind of body.

For too long, dance has been treated as something for naturally confident people, and fitness as something for people who already look fit. That gatekeeping keeps the confidence, connection and wellbeing benefits away from many of the people who could benefit most.

Matt created Vibe after experiencing what it feels like to be judged as the wrong shape for a dance fitness space. Rather than accepting that verdict, he decided to build the opposite kind of room: one where people can arrive anxious, uncoordinated, neurodivergent, tired, bigger-bodied, rusty or completely new and still be treated as though they belong there.

The deeper spark came from taking part in Ashley Banjo’s Big Town Dance alongside his mam, Chris. It brought confidence, joy, movement and connection into ordinary life. Vibe is an attempt to recreate that feeling without the television cameras: the ordinary-human version, available every week.

Too big.Too awkward. Not the right body. Not fit enough.

Not any more.

Vibe exists to make movement feel welcoming before it feels impressive. The room is yours from the moment you arrive.

What is Vibe?

Dance fitness for people who just want to move.

Vibe blends music, movement and community into classes that feel more like a night out than a fitness session. You do not need to be fit, flexible, or have any experience. You just need to show up — the rest sorts itself out.

Meet Matt

Matt is a dance fitness instructor, performing arts educator and wellbeing practitioner. Vibe brings those worlds together: clear teaching, a proper understanding of anxious and neurodivergent brains, and enough personality to stop exercise feeling like a tax return in trainers.

Vibe is intentionally founder-led. Other teachers and guests may appear, and Chris remains part of its heart, but the experience is shaped by Matt’s belief that people deserve to feel stronger, more connected and more alive without being shamed into it.
